Privacy Policy

We collect basic personal information such as name, mobile number, and email address to create user accounts and provide App services. We may also collect limited usage data — such as app interactions and session duration — to improve features and user experience.

The App may store certain information locally on the user’s mobile device, including temporary operational data required for IoT connectivity and offline functionality. This information is stored only to improve user experience and ensure uninterrupted service.

Data stored locally remains on the device and is not accessed or transmitted unless required for App features or synchronization initiated by the user. Users may clear locally stored data by uninstalling the App or using device settings.

With your permission, the App collects approximate or precise device location to show your farm’s location on the in-App map and to display local weather conditions relevant to your farm.

Farm location coordinates are shared with our weather data provider solely to retrieve local weather information, and are not used for any other purpose. You can deny or revoke location permission at any time from your device settings; doing so only disables the map and local-weather features.

Collected information is used only to operate the App, support IoT device communication, provide customer support, and comply with legal requirements.

Account and farm data is processed using Google Firebase (Authentication and Firestore database) as our backend service provider, under Google’s own security and privacy safeguards.

We do not sell or rent personal information. Data is shared only when necessary to provide services (including with the third-party service providers described above), meet legal obligations, or protect user safety.

Reasonable security measures are applied to protect user data, though no method of internet transmission is completely secure.

The App is not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

User data is retained only for as long as required for service delivery or legal compliance. Users may request data correction or deletion by contacting us.

Farm Buddie is a smart irrigation and farm automation company that provides its services through dedicated IoT hardware modules along with the mobile application. The App cannot be used by general users without a Farm Buddie irrigation module, and it has no functionality without the associated hardware.

Connectivity for the IoT module is enabled through a machine-to-machine (M2M) SIM card provided and managed by Farm Buddie solely for device data communication.

If you use the Farm Buddie Camera accessory, the App accesses its live video feed and captured images so you can monitor your farm remotely; this footage is handled the same way as other equipment data described in this policy. Your mobile device’s own camera is only accessed, with your permission, when scanning a QR code to set up or pair new hardware — the App does not otherwise capture photos or video from your phone.

During initial setup, the App uses Bluetooth to communicate with your irrigation controller and send it your WiFi credentials so it can connect to your network. Bluetooth is not used to track your location or scan for other nearby devices, and it is not required once a controller has been set up on WiFi.

With your permission, the App sends push notifications for irrigation events such as cycle start and stop, valve or sensor alerts, and device connectivity status, so you can respond quickly to issues on your farm. You can disable notifications at any time from your device settings.

We collect operational data generated by your connected hardware — including valve and motor status, soil moisture, water level, pressure, flow readings, and weather station data — to run irrigation schedules, display live status, and provide historical reports. This equipment data is tied to your account and farm, and is not used to identify you personally beyond that.

The App automatically collects crash logs and basic diagnostic information, such as device model, OS version, and the App activity leading up to a crash, to identify and fix bugs. This diagnostic data is used solely to improve App stability and is not used to profile or identify you personally.

Account details, farm data, and the equipment data described above are stored and processed on cloud servers operated by our backend provider (Google Firebase / Google Cloud), under that provider’s own security and privacy safeguards. Data may be processed on servers located outside your country of residence.

To delete your Farm Buddie account and all associated data, email us at support@farmbuddie.com (or admin@farmbuddie.com). Upon receiving a valid deletion request, we delete your account and all associated user data from Farm Buddie systems within 30 days.
